My Tho
My Tho is 76km from Ho Chi Minh City. It is an important riverside market town and is noted for its exuberant orchards and immense rice fields.

Vinh Trang Pagoda was built in the early 19th century. It displays a mixture of architectural styles- Chinese, Vietnamese and Angkor (Cambodian). The pagoda consists of 5 buildings, 2 ornamental yards and 178 pillars. One can get to Vinh Trang Pagoda by a long walk from town.

Dong Tam Snake Farm is 9km from town. The farm raises snakes for their medicinal qualities, as well as taking venom for export. There are various species of snakes, and also crocodiles and birds in this farm.

Vinh Long
Delta town of Vinh Long is located between Tien Giang and Hau Giang rivers, 136km from Ho Chi Minh City. Vinh Long is a core area in the Mekong delta, and is an interesting destination. There is a cathedral in town, The richly stocked and well-ordered Vinh Long market is on Hung Dao Vuong Street, Cao Dai church is not far from the second bridge leading into town. One can take boat cruise along the shady canals surrounded by islets of Binh Hoa Phuoc to discover tropical fruit orchards and bonsai gardens. Cai Be floating market is a great place to witness the peaceful lives of people on the Mekong River. 

An Binh - Binh Hoa Phuoc River Island emerges from the middle of the Tien River, just opposite to the town of Vinh Long. The island consists of four villages with some attractions such as Mr. Sau Giao’s flower garden, Mr. Muoi Day’s Stilt house, Mr. Hai Hoang’s old house. One can have meals, stay overnight in these houses.

Can Tho
Located 170km from Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho is a largest city in the Mekong delta, on the banks of the Hau River surrounded by canals and fields. It is wonderful to take a boat trip along the riverbanks. On the east bank of Hau River is Ninh Kieu Wharf, which is well known for its location. The main places of interest are the big floating markets in Phung Hiep and Phong Dien, where buyers and sellers move around by boat. 

Can Tho tourist gardens have appeared in the Mekong delta city of Can Tho. The garden of My Khanh, San Duong, Ba Lang and Tan Binh extend along the highway, as weel as on the waterways of Hong Dien and Phung Hiep rivers. Other gardens in Long My, Vi Thanh, O Mon and Thot Not are also developing. The My Khanh garden occupy 2.2 ha and feature more than 20 kinds of fruit trees and flowers different species of birds, fish, tortoises, snakes, crabs and shrimp. Under the shade of lush garden are the small Rong houses. Ba Lang garden is 9km from Can Tho, There is an animal sanctuary of Ao Sen lake, two lakes for swimming, an outdoor stage.

Khmer Pagoda is located in Soc Trang province. This is a great interest during a tour to the eastern area of southern Vietnam. The large and high arch gate of the pagoda is built with small multi-storey towers placed on top. The two gate walls are engraved a couple of 7-head raising snakes. The main shrine called Prak vihia is where a big Buddhist altar is worshipped. In front of the shrine are statutes of snakes (yak genies) guarding the door. The shrine walls and ceiling are painted pictures telling Buddhist stories or the Khmer’s Riem Ke epic.

Chau Doc
Chau Doc is an attractive bustling riverside town in An Giang province, bordering Cambodia. The Chau Doc is the seat of the Hoa Hao religion. The communities of Chinese, Cham and Khmer also live here. Chau Doc is 117km from Can Tho and 287km from Ho Chi Minh City.

Sam Mountain or Nui Sam lies about 6km south-west of Chau Doc, at 2km from the frontier between Vietnam and Cambodia. Nui Sam is a favourite spot for Vietnamese people who throng here, especially at festival time. Up to the hill, one can have nice views of the surrounding countryside.. Lady Chua Xu Temple, Tay 

An Pagoda, Thoai Ngoc Hau Tomb, Tao ngo Garden and Bach Van Hill are among the famous sites to visit Sam Mountain.

Tay An Pagoda is at the food of the hill. Built originally in 1847, it presents an eclectic mixture of styles-Chinese, Islamic. The pagoda contains a bewildering display of over 200 statutes.
Temple of Lady Chua Xu was built in 1820 on Sam Mountain. According to the legend, in the early 1800s villagers found a statue of a lady dating to the 6th century in the forest. They built a temple in her honour, hoping that she would bring them better lives. Ba Chua Xu festival is organised annually at the end of the 4th lunar month.

Thoai Ngoc Hau Tomb is located in front of Lady Chua Xu Temple. Thoai Ngoc Hau (1761-1829) was the first man in this area to exploit the virgin soil, dig Vinh Te and Tha channels. He was buried there with his two wives and a temple in his honour was built in the 1930s.
