(Gawdawpalin Temple & Archeological Museum, Nyaung Oo District, Mandalay Division, Myanmar)

Bagan Hotel River View*****
Add: Gawdawpalin Temple & Archeological Museum, Nyaung Oo District, Mandalay Division, Myanmar

The Bagan Hotel is set in a stunning location with fantastic river views across the Ayeyarwady River (Irrawaddy). Its peaceful and tranquil setting is a truly unforgettable experience.

With the Gawdawpalin Temple towering over on one side and the river front on the other, this beautiful hotel is situated in the heart of Old Bagan, which is host to one of the most interesting cultural heritage sites in Myanmar; and indeed of the world.

Thousands of ancient pagodas built between 11th and 16th centuries spread across rust coloured planes flanked by the meandering Ayeyarwady River await discovery by the modern traveller.

The hotel is surrounded by pagodas, and is only minutes away from the archeological museum and all the famous sites in Bagan.

Having two ancient pagodas in its lush tropical garden, the hotel's unique architecture remains loyal to authentic Myanmar culture and ancient Bagan tradition.

Single storey bungalow style buildings with dark teak wood exteriors and inlaid sculptures of mythical figures are interconnected with archways of tropical plants and trees. All rooms are tastefully decorated in teak wood from flooring to wall panelling and furnished with every comfort for the discerning traveller.

The Bagan Hotel is located on the banks of the mighty Ayeyarwaddy river, right in the heart of Old Bagan, and about 10 minutes drive from the Nyaung Oo (Bagan) airport. The hotel is literally next door to both the spectacular Gawdawpalin Temple and the Archaelogical Museum, and just a few minutes walk from major must see ancient sites such as Ananda Temple "The jewel of Bagan".

There are regular flights connecting Bagan with Yangon, Thandwe (Ngapali Beach), Mandalay and Heho (Inle Lake). Offices of Air Mandalay and Myanmar Airways are both 5 minutes away from our doorstep.

All rooms & Suites are individually and tastefully decoreted in traditional Myanmar design, with teak wood & artfacts offering comfort for your relaxation.

Set on the banks of the Ayeyarwaddy, with breath-taking views of the river and the beautiful mountain ranges, the Bagan Hotel adds that extra dimension to visiting one of the true wonders of the world - Old Bagan.
Start the day with a delicious breakfast served in the luscious gardens on the edge of the river bank. Listen to the "tat tat's" of the small fishing boats gently cruising along the river. Or simply gaze into the seemingly calm Ayeyarwaddy in the morning's freshness to effortlesly clear your mind before embarking on a day's tour of discovery. This is how a typical day starts at the Bagan Hotel.

Enjoy lunch or dinner at the Koe Lone Village Pool Bar & BBQ Cabana, situated by the pool side, after a day's sightseeing, and eat a mouthwatering Speciality of the Day or choose from the A la Carte menu.
Sip a cocktail on the shore of the Ayeyarwaddy while watching the sunset, and soak up the serene and tranquil atmosphere.

Followed by a Myanmar Traditional Dinner Show around the two pagodas in the garden, enjoy a sumptuous dinner while overlooking the glittering Tangi Pagoda on top of the mountains across the river.
The chefs work under the guidance of the General Manager and Patron Chef Oliver Esser Soe Thet, who is also the President of the Myanmar Chef's Association, voted International Chef of the Month June 2004 by Asia Cuisine Magazine and World Association of Cooks Societies for educational, vocational and awareness building efforts to the Culinary Industry of Myanmar.
